I interpret the world through color—whether I am contemplating everyday life in a small town, exotic travels or even yogic philosophy, painting gives me a better understanding.
After graduating from Idaho State University I taught school for many years, traveling and painting during the summers. I served as an Artist in Residence for the Idaho Commission on the Arts and traveled throughout the state teaching art in under served rural areas. I taught classes and workshops locally, through community education and at Idaho State University. After a sabbatical living and painting in rural Ireland I left teaching to create art full time. I live and work on a small farm tucked away in the southeast corner of Idaho. From my studio I have a bird’s eye view of the farm and surrounding mountains. Much of my art is a reflection of the flowers and land we nurture. “My work is focused on capturing mood and light, provoking thought and expressing beauty.” I am a merit member of the Idaho Watercolor Society and my work has appeared in numerous publications. I have been featured in several one-woman shows and exhibited at regional and national venues. |
